Ashville Beats White Plains on Last Second Touchdown

There was a special feeling in the air on Friday in Ashville. The Bulldogs were hungry for a win after losing five straight games. What followed has been dubbed "The Miracle at Kin Logan."

With the score tied at 20, the Bulldogs drove into White Plains territory to set up what was originally an attempt at a game winning field goal. A false start changed the mind of Coach Trey Pike to try for the "Hail Mary" instead. Quarterback Landon Cornutt rolled right to avoid being sacked, and threw the ball up for grabs into the end zone. Nathan Phillips miraculously came down with it to secure the victory.

"There's no way to describe a win like that." Coach Pike said after the game, "Our guys kept fighting; thats what I'm so proud of. This is something that our seniors will never ever forget."

Ashville improves to 3-6 with the win, and White Plains falls to 0-9. The Wildcats losing skid continues to 24 consecutive games. Both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention.
