On Thursday, July 25th, the Ashville Bulldogs participated in the Glencoe Yellow Jacket 7 on 7 football tournament, earning wins over teams such as West End and county rival Ragland before falling in the championship game versus Class 5A Boaz.
After the tournament, I had a chance to talk to Bulldog linebacker, Ty Armstrong.
"We've been working hard this summer to reach our goal of making the playoffs. We feel really good about where we're at as a team, and we want to show everyone how far we've come when we open the season against Ragland." Armstrong also said that he thinks their summer schedule will translate onto the practice field and against regular season competition like Springville and Oneonta.
The Bulldogs will attend a team camp Aug.1-3 at Southeast Sports Academy before beginning fall camp on Monday, August 5th.
